Individual Psychotherapy

Dr. Agee has training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Problem-Solving Therapy, Mindfulness Skills Training, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Did you know that anxiety is one of the more treatable psychological conditions, with over 70% of people who engage in treatment seeing significant reduction in anxiety?

Couples Therapy
Couples therapy from a cognitive-behavioral perspective is intended to help the couple either (a)work on separating in a mature and civil manner or (b)improve their relationship by learning to communicate more respectfully and effectively, as well as focusing on behavioral tasks the couple can take on together as a team, including spending quality time together and going on dates as well as working together on shared goals. Identifying common conflicts the couple has is important, as well as identifying strengths and ways the couple can support each other better. For instance, when relationships are in distress, couples often fail to say "thank you" or connect physically with their partner, which leads to further distance and built up feelings of resentment or frustration. Learning how to talk about these things without an attitude of blame is often a key part of couples work.

Relaxation Training
As part of treatment of stress and anxiety, individual relaxation skills training is available, including progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) and guided mindfulness meditation.
